Mission Statement

Skye’s adapted clothing offers a wide range of solutions for those needing assistance in dressing with a goal to make life easier for those in need and their caregiver.

We offer all of the needs for those requiring assistance in dressing. Our goal is to offer good quality dressing alternatives that withstand the washing and drying in an institutional setting. Our line is Creation Confort adaptive clothing. As the exclusive distributor of Creation Confort in Ontario, our goal includes working with the various facilities in long term and nursing care to ensure they see the quality of the product offering. As well, working with the family council’s to bring forward our alternative dressing products and to educate the public overall on what benefits are derived from the use of adapted clothing.

What does adaptive clothing mean?

Adaptive clothing opens from the rear allowing a patient to be dressed from behind.

Benefits:

• No need to raise the arms when putting on any top. This assists when someone has issues related to arthritic pain and it is difficult for them to manipulate the arms in a manner making it very uncomfortable or painful.


• When putting on an adapted pant , the need to get it to the hip and then flapping it over. Makes it much easier to put the pant/slack on.


• Nightgowns open from the rear allowing an easy on system for the caregivers.


• All of the product considers dignity as a part of the solution as the tops and nightgowns are made with additional fabric so that the person in the clothing is completely covered.


• In extreme cases where a need to keep the incontinence out of reach, we offer jumpsuits that offer dignity where a resident may undress themselves often thru out a day.


• Accessories include front closing bras, and undershirts to ensure underclothing is considered.
